I got stranded in beautiful Zimbabwe 36 years ago when I came over here to teach on a two year contract, but found I couldn't return to England as my sisters sold the family house in my absence. I am half Polish (father) & half English (mother). I was born in Argentina, raised in Canada till the age of 14, was educated in England, & lived there for 17 years, got a BA in Graphic Design, & came to Zimbabwe in 81 & have been stranded here ever since. I would love to find a decent Polish man to marry as my husband died in a motorbike accident 23 years ago. I have a beautiful 4 house property & built my own house & two cottages. At present I live from rent from my cottages & main house. Before that I worked at the local advertizing agency here in Harare, & since then did free lance work. I am now retired. I am fedup living on my own like a nun & would love to share my life with someone attractive. I especially like Slavic men & would appreciate having a decent man in my life once again.
I am looking for companionship & a little romance:- someone to laugh with & share things. Someone I can trust, to watch TV with & exchange ideas & have fun with. Altho I was raised as a Catholic I no longer follow any religion & prefer a modern thinking slightly intellectual kind of guy. Tall & handsome would be nice, & also financially independent if possible. I certainly could do with someone European to talk to, as this isolation here is killing me. In this limited white population, there are no available attractive men to date unfortunately. Being as the laws of the country here are polygamous, women across Africa tend to be looked upon as inferior beings. Having lived in Canada & England, where women are treated with more respect, I find this lowly position unacceptable. I long to be in a position of equality with a decent well educated man. Hopefully with a sense of humour, & not too religious. I never wanted to have children & don't have any. I miss listening to European music.
The natural history here:- the way things grow in this warm country & the beautiful exotic birds & animals are always fascinating. I have a fab garden with over 30 mature Palm Trees & because of my past history of working as a laborer in the Queen's gardens in Kensington, & Hyde Park, have always been interested in gardening & landscaping. I built my own house & two cottages that I rent out, with money I earned doing freelance Artwork. This is a brilliant country with some of the best blacks in Africa. Unfortunately due to the collapse of the economy, it is a struggle to make any sort of progress here. However the natural beauty of this SubSaharan country with marvelous weather, means easy living. I wouldn't like to return to freezing cold England, altho I miss the history & culture of Europe. Mainly I miss being with people of my own kind, but after my sisters sold the family house in my absence, chances of my returning to live there are slim. I would much prefer to be married again.
